Maui, Hawaii: The Lavender Farm

Monday, April 27, 2015

After pulling in longer hours at work on a weekly basis (part of the reason why I haven't updated this blog, sorry!), Ben and I decided that we needed to just get away from work. And of course, what could be more relaxing than a weekend trip to Maui! While there, one of the first places we stopped by was the Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm.
The farm is an enormous botanical garden where guests are allowed to freely roam among the lavender fields, pick flowers, and submerse themselves among the wonderful aromas in the air. We spent some time frolicking through the lavender fields (something that I have always wanted to do) and observing the exotic plants. There was a generous amount of succulents in the mix and we even saw a pineapple plant (picture below).

The lavender fields boats 5 types of lavender and you can grab them to get a bit of the oil onto your hands and smell them. There is also a gift shop where visitors can purchase a variety of lavender products made on the farm and sip on some lavender lemonade. May I say it was a scentsational day?

Of course no trip is officially done without a happy couple selfie.
