I started documenting outfits that I wear to work in hopes that it can inspire my readers to get creative and put in an effort to really feel as good as you look for work. Some people do not necessarily think it's important to put in the effort to dress up for work as you would going out with friends but I think that's absolutely the wrong attitude!
Sure, the office-friendly options may not be as fun as summer wear and colorful festival wear, but it does not mean there is no room for creativity and fun. For those who are working in professional environments for long hours, realize that we are living in our office clothes for many hours each week. We're likely to be wearing work outfits more than any other outfits in our closet so why not feel awesome in your clothes 8+ hours a day?
One simple outfit I'm sharing on the blog today is a silk lavender top with black pants that I wore to the office last week. I love this combo since it's just a simple top and bottom combo but the intricate curtain-like design of the top dresses up the outfit. Of course the top was a bit of a splurge since it's from Burberry but I have been able to recycle this piece at work and while out with friends. The lightweight material of silk adds a nice dimension as it doesn't feel heavy.
As I did with this outfit, it can be easy to put together a nice work outfit with neutral colored pants and a nice top. What are your favorite office outfit combinations?
