Denver, Colorado: Cotopaxi 2015

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

I spent a weekend in Denver, Colorado to compete in the Cotopaxi Questival. It is essentially a 24 hour, city-wide scavenger hunt where teams ranging from 2 to 6 compete and complete tasks to get as many points as possible. The winners of each competition continue on to compete in the Questival World Championship in Belize (that's one way to win a free trip) while second and third place get money for Cotopaxi gear. The winner of the second round in Belize wins a free trip around the world.

As it was my first time in the Denver area, doing the competition was a great way to get familiar with everything the city and nearby areas have to offer. We ran all over downtown Denver taking photos and chasing after landmarks.

The questival took us all over the area from downtown Denver to camping on the outskirts and Boulder. As a team we weren't very competitive since we wanted to enjoy our time with the tasks and take time to relax. Despite not winning (or even coming close) it was still a fun time and I highly recommend it, especially if you want to explore a new city with some friends!
