An office staple that has gotten many stretches of wear in my professional wardrobe is a simple black pencil skirt. They go well with all colors, making it easy to match a variety of tops. The dark color also makes it easier to hide food and drink accidents that may occur while dining with coworkers or clients if you're as clumsy as I am (shhh! I won't tell if you won't).

Depending on where you live, it may be hot or humid which makes commuting to work and not look like you’ve ran a marathon impossible at times. When my company announced that the annual employee celebration would be Hawaiian themed, I knew this would be the perfect occasion to wear my new drop waist dress from J Crew. I picked up this lovely dress about a month ago during J Crew’s sale and was not sure if the perfect occasion would come up so soon. The dress comes in a lovely pale blue color with palm trees printed in a darker navy blue.

Spring is here which means pretty dresses galore! Since I started working, I have been trying to get the most out of my outfits by buying items that can go with both work and play. Earlier in the season I found a striped dress that works as a tea dress and work dress.

This past weekend afforded me more time to do some shopping as I was finally home from my hectic travel schedule. The awesome thing about this time of the year are the sales. There seems to be sales in a good number of stores as they try to get rid of their winter and spring attire which means it's time to stock up that closet!

Spring Colors for Maui

It is definitely more than spring in Maui! The sunlight there was just as intense as summer desert heat. With this in mind, packing for Maui called for some bright colors and pretty patterns.
