Rooftop bar at Rio Grande
Rio Grande is a Mexican restaurant in Boulder. We enjoyed margaritas with chips and salsa here. The margaritas come in 3 flavors- mango, strawberry, or a mix of the two. The location is an awesome place to sit back and take in the view of the mountains as they prominently jut out from the background.
Riffs Urban Fare
We stopped at Riffs Urban Fare for for some drinks and appetizers. I tried their pea hummus here with celery and carrots instead of pita bread and found it to be a refreshing snack. The pea surprisingly worked well as a hummus.
At the rooftop bar of The West End Tavern
The West End Tavern has more of a pub-like feeling and features a rooftop for dining. Since it is in a more enclosed area, there aren't any great views of the mountains but it is smaller and quieter than Rio Grande. I tried the spirit animal cocktail here along with a burger. The menu features typical pub eats such as burgers, wings, and salad along with a selection of cocktails.
Japango
Japango is a Japanese restaurant found in downtown Boulder. At this point of the crawl we've had more food than needed and just tried another drink. I ordered the Serrano splash made of infused Serrano pepper vodka, St. Germain, agave nectar, lemon juice, lime juice, and basil. The seemingly odd concoction fused well together.
The outdoor patio of Salt
Salt is a more upscale bar and has an awesome menu that allows mixing and matching to create your own customer cocktail. You get to choose a type of spirit, flavoring of syrup, and type of base to finish off your drink. I tried a vodka with blood orange and rosemary syrup fizz and it was delicious!
Fior di Latte
Lastly we stopped for ice cream to top off the bar/restaurant crawl and I tried the pistachio gelato. The great thing about this place is that most of their gelatos are gluten free and they even offer a few vegan selections!
